We are so excited to announce that our PA Boob Ride director is taking part in her first Susan G. Komen 3 Day 60 mile walk this weekend (Oct 2nd-4th). Michelle is a second time survivor of breast cancer and she is quite the inspiration. This has been a year of firsts for Michelle, as she held the first ever Boob Ride in Pennsylvania in July as well as a several other fundraisers for her team.
In addition to her fundraising efforts, Michelle has been recognized by the Philadelphia Susan G. Komen 3-Day and has been asked to participate in the Survivor Circle! Only 8 people out of thousands are selected to be part of the Survivor Circle – which takes place during both the opening and closing ceremonies. This is a spectacular honor, and even though we may be a little biased, we couldn’t think of another person who is more deserving!
Michelle and her team will be walking 20 miles each day for three days, in what could be a torrential downpour. Her daughter, Emily, is too young to walk but she will be working in the Volunteer Corps at the walk. We wish Team Marvel all the best of luck on their first walk.
We walk because we must. We are strong because the journey demands it. Together in body and united in spirit, we lay down our footsteps for this generation and the next. This is our promise: a world without breast cancer.
