Breast cancer and the healing effects of massage

Michelle Przemieniecki and Robin Roberts at AMTA 2016

Our ride director for The Boob Ride PA, Michelle Przemieniecki,  recently met Robin Roberts, a breast cancer survivor best known for being an Good Morning America host, at the American Message Therapy Association conference in Milwaukee, WI . The two met up in October and discussed surviving triple negative breast cancer as well as how massage has played a significant role in their recoveries.  After her second battle with breast cancer, Michelle changed careers and started her own business as a massage therapist. Robin tweeted that "Massage therapy has been extremely helpful in my fight and recovery from cancer & MDS. It's been proven to relieve the symptoms of chemo". Not only have Michelle and Robin extolled the benefits of massage for cancer patients, but also many of our survivors have agreed. One survivor continued the lymphatic massages for almost two years after her mastectomy.

Here at The Boob Ride, we look to find and fund treatments that can help ease the suffering of cancer patients. While we help fund research, we know that taking care of the patients during their treatment is also important.  Cancer diagnosis and treatment can be devastating for the patient and her/his family, which is why we are committed to making a difference for breast cancer patients, survivors, and all those who are touched by this disease.
