Wally and her doctors immediately started treatment: first with chemo, then a double Continue reading →

The Boob Ride San Diego in the Union Tribune

The Boob Ride was featured in The Union Tribune on Christmas Day. This was a great present for all the efforts. The original article ran in April 2015. This article is an annual recap about locals in San Diego making a difference. Our co-founders are featured with their moms, breast cancer survivors. This article is a great summary of the genesis for The Boob Ride. Thanks to all our supporters and we are looking forward to a great year in 2016.

Dense boobs

I recently had to have a breast MRI done for diagnostic screening. I have the trifecta of bad luck in that I have a history of breast cancer on both sides of my family, I am now 40, and I have dense breasts. Unfortunately, having dense breasts means that regular mammography screening is insufficient for me. According to the American Cancer Society, ladies like me are at a higher risk for breast cancer and should have “MRIs each year along with their mammograms”. This is the Continue reading →

Surviving Cancer and a 60 Mile Walk

This is a recap of Michelle’s 3 Day SGK walk, why she did it, and how she started The Boob Ride Pennsylvania. In August of 2014, I found a large lump in my right breast.  I had already had breast cancer 7 years prior and had clean mammograms every year – It didn’t even cross my mind that this could be a cancerous tumor.  That month and the tumor grew to over 9cm and was extremely painful.  I spent months in treatment and several surgeries Continue reading →

The Pink Bra (Maglia Rosa)

In 2015, The Boob Ride added the Pink Bra, aka the Maglia Rosa. This newly and highly coveted award is for women only (sorry fellas)! This award is given to the Best Woman overall on the D-Cup route. While purely a popularity contest, the Maglia Rosa is still quite the award. Our first winner was Kim Froeschner. She tried to take it home with her, but we reeled it back in until the perpetual trophy is made. Here she is winning the inaugural Maglia Rosa. A Continue reading →

Even the government likes The Boob Ride – The Boob Ride is trademarked!

We have just received word that our name has been trademarked! We started this process in late October and we have finally received notice that we are official. (We will have to wait another 12 weeks or so to be registered) Trademarking something is labor intensive and can be quite expensive. Why trademark?
