A New Award for 2016
After many long hours and a glue gun burn or two, we would like to present the newest award – The Diamond Bra! This award is for the Most Inspirational rider or participant, and it honors The Boob Ride’s good friend and adviser, Commander Kevin Childre.
Commander Childre was not only a Boob Rider, but his advice and willingness to help got The Boob Ride off the ground in San Diego. Kevin had started his own charity ride called Undefeated, which raises money for the wounded, injured, ill, and fallen EOD Warriors. Sadly, Kevin was killed last year while riding.
Kevin was not only a dedicated Navy serviceman, but he also had a million dollar smile. Everyone who knew him, knew his 1,000 watt smile. He pushed us to be better, whether it was in sports, careers, or in giving back. His enthusiasm encouraged us all. We wanted to honor Commander Childre the best way we know how, so we created the Diamond Bra Award to commemorate him. Kevin was many things, but he accomplished what we all strive for – he made a difference to the people and the world around him.
Kevin, you are missed but we will remember you always.
