Best Young Rider Award

2016-white-braThe Best Young Rider award for The Boob Ride is a white training bra.

In the Tour de France, the Best Young Rider is awarded for the fastest time by a cyclist who is under 26 years old. They give the jersey out on a daily basis to the person with the lowest amount of time. This means the jersey will often move from rider to rider during the race until the final day. The fastest time on the last day by a rider under 26 will win the white jersey and the Best Young Rider award for the entire race. If you are interested, here is the full background.

The Boob Ride does it a little differently. We let all the participants vote on who wins this highly coveted award. The post-ride party usually has a a fair amount of beer flowing, lots of camaraderie, and then we vote for who wins. We have had one winner that was 12 and another that was 85. Here are the winners of this illustrious award throughout the years.

White-Bra-winner-2010Vicki Cuccia was the inaugural winner. Unfortunately, we were not diligent about taking award photos in our first year, so we do not have her picture with the first trophy. If you have one of these pictures, please contact us.

Mike Wiener is a big supporter of The Boob Ride and took home the White Bra in 2011. We think this picture is  Mike during the ride, but we were really bad at collecting award photos in the early days. If you have one of these pictures, please contact us.

White bra 2012Chris Carey (12 years old!!) is our first truly young rider. I remember giving him his first bra like it was yesterday.  He rode most of the ride on a tandem like a trooper. He has been on every ride since and I bet he is looking for the KOM trophy by now!

White Bra 2013Link Lindquist at 85 is our oldest, Best Young Rider. Link has done the ride many years and runs Links Bike Tours. If your looking for a fun tour, contact Link.

White Bra 2014Patrick Outericky was the man in 2014 to win the Best Young Rider. His second Boob Ride was his most glorious year, winning his most prized cycling trophy. Patrick has done Ironman races, triathlons, endurance mountain bike races, and local mountain bike races. This trophy demonstrates he is truly young at heart.
